BNP’s grand rally in Khulna 2025

Coming to power with popular support, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will ensure easy access to the Internet across the country and introduce multilingual education.

Standing Committee member Mr. Salahuddin Ahmed expressed this desire at a joint seminar organised by the party’s three affiliates: Jubodol, Secchasebok Dol and Chatrodol in Khulna on Thursday.

Today, May 17, 2025, Saturday, BNP organised a huge public meeting in Khulna city. Popular student leaders, youth leaders and senior leaders of the main party BNP will address the meeting. Today’s meeting will be attended by millions of people. High-level leaders of BNP will give speeches. People of all classes will listen to the speeches of the leaders.

16 May, In his keynote speech, Salahuddin said, “We should learn at least two languages. I myself have learnt another language. In future, if we come to power, we will take the initiative to teach at least two languages besides the mother tongue.”

Highlighting the party’s contribution to national reforms in the past, he said, “All reforms in this country have been under the leadership of the BNP. It was our leader Ziaur Rahman who declared the liberation war. He established multi-party democracy. The post-1990 parliamentary system of government and the introduction of a caretaker government were also brought by BNP.

“Democracy will return under Tariq Rahman’s leadership.”

He added: “Before the fall of the authoritarian regime in 2023, we announced a 31-point outline for national reforms. This 31-point has now become the epic of Bangladesh politics.”

Criticising the Awami League, the BNP leader said, “The Awami League has established a rule of thieves in the last 15 years. They destroyed the country and then ran away.” The BNP presented their 31-point roadmap to the people to rebuild Bangladesh from the rubble.”

Calling for “good politics” to counter Awami League’s “dirty politics”, he said, “The history of Awami League is a history of bad politics. We must replace it with good politics. Only then will the Awami-style one-party system never arise again.”

Talking to the participants in the seminar revealed their concerns and expectations.

Bagerhat student Arafat Hossain said, “I am studying at university, but I am constantly worried about what awaits me after graduation, whether there will be any jobs. We want the state to think about our future.”

Mr Nazmul Kabir, a young entrepreneur in Khulna, highlighted the fragile healthcare system, saying, “People in the village cannot get even the most basic treatment.” But equal healthcare for all is a fundamental right.”

However, due to government offices being open today, an excessive number of people entering Khulna will cause a traffic jam in the city. As a result, there will be some obstacles or problems in government work. Today’s Khulna rally is the biggest political rally after August 5.
